Yes, this party needs at least one musician, preferably an acoustic band of some sort, singer, guitar, fiddle, mandolin, ukulele, bass player (and maybe even a little drummer boy)!

Yes, this season can easily become overwhelming. I'd love to see a modernized story of the nativity that is not at all sentimentalized. In fact, at first it might not be apparent that it's a version of the nativity because it's in such a different setting than the traditional story. But then it gradually becomes apparent. I'd love to see action figures of artists, like Jane Austen, Beethoven, and Monet.

Perhaps it needs a World globe in the background. Let’s encourage EVERYONE to worship him and share his LOVE.

What a wonderful collection! I love the theme of acceptance and appreciation of diversity, and sharing our journey. Thanks for sharing yours (and the many dimensions of art and understanding packaged in beautiful words and song)

This reminds me of the Crèche I'd see everywhere in Mexico (stores, churches, restaurants, sid of the road) there was always the traditional, surrounded by various and sundry collections of whatever meant something to the person who placed it there. Lovely. And everyone went to midnight mass with their baby Jesus, to be blessed by the priest, before he was placed in their Manger.

Christmas Eve and I here alone (?). I don’t think so. I attended the candle light service at my church, filled with warm friendly people and we all wished each other a Merry Christmas, then went home. I choose to be alone this year and I’m glad. In the past Christmas has been a month of building excitement finally topped by the big day itself. Then on the 26th.....pfuttt. I like the Christmas spirit, I don’t want it to vanish the day after, I want it to last all year, every year.

So tomorrow I’ll celebrate the birthday of JESUS with the just the birthday boy himself, and the day after, and the day after that as well. And I wish all of you a Very Merry Christmas, not just for tomorrow but for all year, every year. GOD Bless.

This recording is the best! I have many CDs by Carrie Newcomer and have had the pleasure of hearing her in concert. I hope this recording will come in a CD so I can hear it often. Merry Christmas!

I was happy to see RBG made it to the creche, even without hands....I think she had a lot of qualities similar to Jesus - aside from being Jewish... ❤️

It’s been a rough month of December for me. Down at out with Covid for 2 weeks followed by laryngitis, which I currently still have. I’m disappoint that I can’t sing along to Carrie Newcomer! Due to my illnesses I have struggled to get into the “holiday spirit” Missing so much of Advent, it’s hard to just jump back in. Yesterday was the 1 year anniversary of my childhood friend’s passing. Just another reason it’s hard to get into the “spirit”. Hearing your Christmas story Carrie ignited the flame that I was not able to light in my own.

May you have a blessed holiday season, surrounded by love and loved ones.

Thanks Carrie.

Carrie, I would have to put you, Sharon and Parker Palmer. Since we first met at FUMC FW, I have followed some of the many ways y’all have served as midwife/doula for people to discover fresh & powerful courage in this world that needs to awaken to the healing & connecting power of compassion.

Since I was diagnosed with cancer 53 years ago and became a young patient at St. Jude, I have had a heightened sense of life as gift. I’m so grateful how tenderly y’all have helped create deep trust gatherings of spirits in a broken world.

I was recently diagnosed with lung cancer and am very aware that this might be my last Christmas. I feel now more than ever, the call to live soulfully in the “eternal now” that constantly is giving birth. With great gratitude, I am journeying with a “transitions doula” as we celebrate deepening awareness of our interconnection with all beings (including trees - so beautifully reflected in these poems:

May we all share in and live from the hidden wholeness that constantly gives birth to new hope, love and life. 🙏🏼❤️🙏🏼

I am coming to the end of my battle with Covid.... choosing to worship from home. As I sleep at night, Singing in the dark is on replay for the moments when I wake.... I think we need a monk to remind us that The Holy One sings for us relentlessly!!!!

You, your work, your perseverance in finding the words to connect us all is a constant gift for which there are no adequate thanks, but from all of us to you...the greatest wild mercy!!!!! (Maybe put a teeny tiny copy of Singing in the Dark too!!!!🎶🎶🎶)
