Hi Everyone,
This is a new poem of mine I wanted to share with our community. Its called “Alfie” and its about my friends childhood pet duck. Yup.
It was inspired by reading a Hafiz poem that pondered the gifts we are each given —but sometimes have to grow into. Sometimes we have to learn how to care for the gifts we are born to have and hold, especially if those gifts were not originally understood or appreciated by everyone around us.
The poem is a celebration of finally holding who we are, and the gifts we’ve been given with tenderness and gratitude.
