On Sunday I’ll return to my usual posting, but I wanted to let everyone know about my twice a year supporting subscriber 20% discount.

I am so grateful to share this hopeful experiment and incredibly rewarding journey with you. Together we have created this thoughtful space to connect and stay in conversation through music, poetry, essays and meaningful conversation around topics that matter to us. Together we’ve grown to nearly 20,000 subscribers from all over the world and with your support The Gathering of Spirits has consistently remained in the Top 10 music/spirituality Substack newsletters on this increasingly prominent platform for writers, journalist, artists, musicians, poets and other meaningful content creators!

I’m so moved by the way we care for one another and keep this space vibrant and safe for heart-felt conversations about healing, compassion, faith, spirituality, beauty, resilience, love for music, poetry, literature, the natural world, finding meaning in our ordinary, extraordinary days as we explore what is emerging at our personal and community growing edges. It’s been wonderful to interact with you myself, but I’m also thrilled to see the supportive ways you all interact with one another. The Gathering of Spirits has become a place where we all can sense we are not alone and that we are part of a greater community of care and compassion where all of our voices are appreciated and given the space to question, learn, share wisdom and experience and remember what connects us.

How Substack is different from other Social Media Platforms

I began this Substack experiment as a way to explore an online platform that would be more conclusive to thoughtful writing and safer community interaction. My writing and other offerings at Substack are generally longer form and often go deeper into topics than average social media. I can send things directly to the community through email or the app. On Substack I own my content. The one inch photos, the poetry and songs and essays do not become the licensed product of the Facebook to use, transfer and profit from without my permission or compensation. That’s a lot to take in, but I wanted to really let you know the huge difference in attitude about the importance of the arts, respect for the time and work of artists that are practiced here at Substack.

The Gathering of Spirits has been an incredibly rewarding creative project. Again, my huge appreciation to all free or paid subscribers who have joined me here and shared in this ongoing conversation.

As you may already know, Substack works a bit on the NPR model. Please know that I will continue to offer lots of free content so that everyone can partake and participate in meaningful ways here.
