Hi Folks
March 14th, International Pi Day!
Yes, sometimes the world could use just little bit of sweetness. So lets celebrate pie stories today.
My dad used to say, "I only like three kinds of pie - hot, warm and cold." He also taught me the virtues of having a little extra pie just to "even up the edges."
I’d love to hear some of your pie stories!
Question
What is your favorite pie or pie baker or pie story?
I'll start
….blueberry
….but then again there's my friend Legene's sour cherry,
…and then again there's my grandmother's rhubarb...hummmm
….and then there is hot, warm and cold.
My family is particularly fond of rhubarb custard with meringue on top. A recipe from Mother in Law. However, my favorite “pie” story is about my son who made a Christmas card in first grade. It read, “I hope thar (there) is pies (peace) in the world!”
A statement that is true on both counts.
I’m soooo loving these stories. Yes… a little sweetness is a gift sometimes. I love that so many of these are stories about mothers and grandmothers and aunts and dads and uncles and brothers and sisters and friends. family traditions snd special days.
