Hi Carrie, what a great sound and I am amazed at the talent you put together for this production. My cousin teachers violin and does a lot of show doing civil war music, and her family were profs in school, and our family reunions were always filled with music, and some from instruments I never saw before. This really is a great sound and I think this might put you on your way, even more than you have been seeing. Sorry have not been on much lately, but your music will always draw me near. Bob Good Luck, this music is just stunning to listen too. Thanks for sharing, I love it!
Beautiful song, and as always, beautifully performed. I was feeling a bit down about another song making headlines right now, and the comments it has provoked. Thank you for bringing me back up again!
This song sings exactly what I've been struggling to say in my emails, my facebook posts and in innumerable conversations. I am so tired of the angry and the ugly and the hurtful; I long for peace, kindness and compassion. Thank you for helping me find the place where I can re-orient myself to shift what I see and deflect that which isn't helpful to my soul.
If I kept a diary or journal, I'd wonder how you got your hands on it and read it through so carefully. This song is a response to all my angst, and I am grateful.
Hi Sue, You are not alone in this longing, and although it is difficult, there is something beautiful and hopeful in our collective desire for a world that is better and kinder. For me that indicates there is more than enough of us leaning into positive daily action, doing what we each can do for positive change, and the power of our collective hearts turning toward goodness. The news of the world would have us believe that we are alone, that its too big for any of us to make a difference. But not only is there enough of us to make a difference, we already are, and a Great Wild Mercy is already here. Thanks for your honest post. I think its important for us to acknowledge being tired of the rage and worry. It is important to grieve what needs to be grieved. But I read the other day that "What we believe carries a charge, wether or not it can or cannot be proven." I choose to believe in an ever present goodness, that carries a charge in my own life...and a charge in the world.
Thank you Carrie!! Yes I love the playlist function. My biggest playlist is you!!! I’m hearing your single realize everywhere today by the way!!
This day is bitter sweet for me….my first birthday without my mom and I lost my dad 43 years ago on this day. Even though I was small when he passed, I have never stopped thinking about him and what my life would have been like if he were still here.
I’m comforted knowing they are together looking down on me.
The sound alone is a lot of work; add this animated movie, and I am more than full of respect and admiration. How joyful and hopeful is the song and the sequence of pictures! Congratulations!
It was such a joyful process to create the recording and then create the video. My heart is pretty full these days. And gosh, the lovely affirmations and comments about the song are so touching to me. Thanks Jacek!
Carrie, This is so beautiful. I will be listening all day and sharing with my favorite people. “The stories that will heal us...the stories we let go.”
thank you so so much Mary! This album and this song in particular have been such labors of love. Its so nice to finally be sharing with you and all our friends here. Yes, I think we are all carrying stories that help and heal...but ones that have lost their purpose and its time to release them, lay down the burdens of some of those old stories. thanks again Mary..
