On my morning walks with you singing in my ear and surrounded by the Amazing beauty of October in Crawfordsville,Indiana, I am filled with peace and Reflections to begin my day. I found my one inch photo today. Out of the decaying stump new life was bursting forth in tiny mushrooms and little feathery ferns. In the words of my favorite poet-
I’ve been listening to A Great Wild Mercy this week. The song that keeps singing in my heart is “Take More Time, Cover Less Ground.” It especially resonates this week as the trees in this area reach peak color. That means the leaf peepers come out, cars driving in an endless stream on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Instead, my husband and I walk in the woods near our house and enjoy the play of the sunlight on the trees. We cover less ground but are filled with gratitude for the bountiful beauty of creation.
I hope you take some time to enjoy the trails near our home at Kanuga Conference Center. Our favorite is Rufus Morgan to Geyer Long Rocks, being still at the St Francis Chapel, wandering through the woods, and then gazing at the mountains in the distance from the top.
Congratulations Carrie on another beautiful album!I’ve been listening to it for a while now....the perks of being an Album Angel!! I received my package in the mail the other day and I couldn’t be happier!!! It was such an honour to be at your album release concert last month too. May we all find the Mercy we’ve been longing for!!! Love you Carrie!!
Thank you again, Carrie, for “A Path through the Evening Woods.” As you know, your song meant the world to my sister as she lay dying last winter. She not only listened to the file you sent us, but a member of her church choir came to her room at the nursing home and sang it for her. The song brought her great comfort—and when it was performed again at her memorial service, it brought great comfort to our whole family. As always, your creative generosity sheds a lot of light on the dark places in our world. Love and blessings from all the Palmers...
My dear Parker, it makes me teary to hear that the song was of comfort at such a time. Thank you for sharing the journey. There is a cloud of ancestors gathered, and they felt particularly close that evening…nodding, smiling and welcoming. Love and blessings back at cha all!
I was privileged to be the singer that Parker referenced. It was a great honor to get to sing this for my dear friend Sharon's service. I listened to the final version today and it is fun to hear the nuanced changes from the demo to this. Thank you again for writing this for the Palmer family and for allowing me to perform it. I hope you have an opportunity to perform in Door County, Wisconsin in the coming months so I can thank you personally for this and all of your other music that I have enjoyed.
My quiet time this morning was listening to this new album. Your compositions, the recorded tracks, your voice, and the mix, elevated my spirit. Your lyrics, oh my: “forgive the street that skinned my knee”... I loved it all. Thank you Carrie.

Thank you again, Rich. At a time of darkness, your singing and playing brought light to all the Palmers, and we are ever-grateful.
