Loving the peaceful photo of Lake Michigan.....calm waters, gentle waves. Missing being there. Here from the Blue Ridge for the Dansk (Danish) Festival in Greenville this weekend and praying for as many minutes as possible for a rainless day so all of the planning can proceed. Summers in Michigan are the best!

I like reading your comments and observations about what is going on. I also like how you make sure we remember the simple gifts of nature. On our computer one drive comes up, about what we have done on that particular day. Recently it has been showing us about our trip to Oregon. The Columbia gorge, and the hiking at the various waterfalls, and the majesty of Mt. Hood, then the awesome Crater Lake, and now up to where we wind up at Seaside on the Pacific. where Lewis & Clark ended their journey. It reminds us of the beauty which you always bring out of things we take for granted

Your picture over Lake Michigan immediately brought to mind Sally Roger's song "Lovely Agnes." Enjoy your time there!

Carrie I have a mantra: “Michigan, it’s always a good idea!” I grew up with the privilege of a family cottage on Lake Huron. If you ever have the chance, check it out. Thank you for your spiritual inspiration and leadership, ❤️

I live about 150 miles from Lake Superior and I really identify with the feeling of being on the ocean without having to travel across the country! It is probably my favorite place in all of the world.

Gorgeous picture! Enjoy your vacation with your family! I’ll be vacationing this weekend too celebrating my Anniversary. Although I won’t be near a body of water, I’ll be camping out in nature….I long to get out of the city and enjoy our natural earth. Make lots of memories!!

I am a native of Chicago. Lake Michigan was my "swimming pool" when I was growing up. When I was raising my daughters in Highland Park, we lived down the street from Lake Michigan. Visiting my daughter in MN, I was surprised to see lakes in Minneapolis that one can see across. Lake Michigan IS definitely more like an ocean!
