Another beautiful and meaning-rich song. Reminds me of the stone pagodas great for meditation and thoughtfulness during the building and later contemplation. Also brings to mind the cairns that can be used to help others find their path. Simple yet precious. Thank you for your continued approachable inspiration - simple yet precious!

One of my practices when we travel is to bring a stone home from wherever we went. On my desk under my are stones from a family hike at the Flatirons in Colorado, one from Kenya, one from Angkor Wat, another from southern Canada, one from Robben Island in South Africa, and a few others. They are tangible reminders of those places.

This song made me smile, especially since my family is just beginning a week in Acadia National Park. We marveled at the various rock formations throughout the day, from cairns to Bubble Rock to boulder fields to ... And tomorrow we’ll see Thunder Hole. Whenever I listen to this song, I’ll remember this week of exploration and discovery.

I am excited to hear the new song and the full CD. Your thoughts on start with a stone are so lovely. I’m reminded of a picture book I used to read to my kids when they were small called “Stone Soup”. It’s a lovely book with a great message about sharing whatever simple things and gifts we have and by putting them all together we create something wonderful and nourishing to share. And the story starts with a stone. I recommend this simple story to you all.

During the pandemic our. Grandson (then 7), like many other people, started painting stones and leaving them on doorsteps as a way of saying “Hi!” that was safe. And when he came to visit us - outside, in the cold of the Canadian winter, from a distance, he placed two stones for me on the porch. I still keep those stones, and have now placed them in the soil around a small saguaro cactus plant - a plant that survives in the driest of climates, nurturing wildlife - dry times leading to sustained living - stones from a dear young boy when closeness was not possible. I will add a stone today from my flower bed to that pot!

Hi Carrie, this is Jackie Newport . I love this song, it is my favorite of the new singles so far. I love the baby turtle and the otters, they are so cute. On a more serious note, I don't get outside much anymore because of being bedridden in a nursing home, but I have always loved the feel of rocks and stones. This makes me think of some of your best songs like a gathering of spirits and hold on. I am going to share the video with a friend. Thank you for your wonderful music and poetry .

I love this song. It reminds me that my lofty aspirations for my spiritual unseen journey begins with earthy, on the ground things and attention. And it reminds me of a practice I sometimes use that I call Two Stones Wisdom. I hold a warm or smooth stone in one hand, a cool or rough stone in the other, and notice that the experience of each hand is opposite of the other hand, yet both are true. This sensory practice helps me to hold two thoughts simultaneously that are opposite yet both true. To embrace AND instead of BUT. For example, someone can love me AND have limitations.

Thank you so much for a beautiful reminder to ground, stay connected with the earth, and what I can hold.

I love this meditation. That the smooth and the rough can both be true…so many things in life are a meditation on the both/and. Beautiful ! Thank you Jeff
