Lately, I’ve been reading Rebecca Solnit’s beautiful “A Field Guide To Getting Lost”. It is a book not easily described, populated with lovely winding sentences that curve around on themselves in such interesting ways. In the book she explores the experience and metaphor of being lost. Sometimes we get lost because we are not paying attention and wander of path. Sometimes we get lost because something is calling, we catch a snippet of a bird song that is so hauntingly beautiful we must follow it off trail to hear it more clearly.
