Loving the Things We Love Because We Love Them
Self-care is not only a form of self-love, it is a form of resistance.
A New February Post About Love
First, thank you for participating in our community valentine project. We had some technical glitches with Pinterest, but some folks were able to post wonderful, beautiful valentines. I think the next time we do something with images, we’ll use Substack chat! But what fun, and thank you for participating! If you haven’t seen the wonderful valentines people posted, here is the link.
This February, we’ve been talking a lot about how to remain engaged in these challenging times and leaning into what we love. I’m finding it is utterly essential to yes, love the world, but to also love myself enough to rest and take breaks - to do the things that help us stay resilient - to do the things that remind me of the goodness and beauty still present in the world.
So my “love encouragement” to all of us here at A Gathering of Spirits is to love what you love. Lean into the oar, and then rest and let a glorious sunset fill your heart and soul. Love the world and love your own well-being. Staying centered is an act of resistance. Self care is how we’ll stay engaged for the long haul.
