Standing in Solidarity With All That Shines In The Dark

Ever since the first Tuesday in November, one of the questions I’ve been continuing to ask myself is what to do with a daily presentation of conscious cruelty. The only answer I’ve come up with for how to respond to conscious cruelty is with conscious love, intentional kindness, creative thinking and courageous action.

This is a poem I wrote this week about encountering cruelty, the compassion it taught me and the resolve it gave me. There are a couple lines that may be hard if you love fireflies, but it is a story of solidarity and resolve and to how a heart can open.

But first I’ll start with a song…because its music, always music.

So to this amazing gathering of spirits community, to all of standing on the side of love …stay grounded in love, make something beautiful this week…and hold on to your flashlight.
