Reminder On Saturday June 14, there will be No Kings Day protests all over the country. There are times to take to the streets in non-violent protest, to join with other concerned citizens and to make the will of We The People known. As the current administration continues to take unlawful authoritarian actions, we must continue to make our voices heard. I’ll be attending my local protest with several friends and associates. Years ago, my friend Suzanne gave me a knitting class as a birthday present. In those days, Suzanne (an incredible weaver and fiber arts teacher) owned a wonderful fiber art and yarn shoppe. When she handed me the gift certificate for a sock knitting class she told me it was time to stop coming into to chat with her so that I could fondle her yarn and learn to knit. Honestly socks are a bit advanced to start with, but I had a great teacher, Alison, who walked me through the process of creating my first pair of socks that honestly could have fit the Jolly Green Giant. It was a lovely class as I recall, a gathering of women and men who wanted to learn the nuances of creating something truly luxurious with 4 smooth sticks and incredibly soft string.
